Leaving New Zealand

IPad is maybe lost forever, hand is a bit worse for wear, but overall an amazing trip. Here's our goodbye selfie.

We sea kayaked here.

Last night in Queenstown

It's been an incredible three weeks. More photos will be uploaded once we get to Boston, but wanted to post a fond farewell to an unbelievably beautiful country. Thank you.

Sorry no photos

Back country component very intense with a lot of time pressure. Tour group and guides are great and we are enjoying ourselves thoroughly.

Transition to back country

We just dropped off our trusty campervan and are at airport to meet up with our back country tour group. Traveling in our mini home for ten days has been awesome. Hopefully the next eight days are even cooler 😁

Akaroa, and a pig named Ninja

We drove through Christchurch to Akaroa and stopped at the hilltop restaurant. Brett went wandering to get pictures and met Ninja the pig. Best pig ever. Tried to cuddle and everything.

The drive from Blenheim to Woodend

Is nearly impossible to describe. You go through extremely varying microclimates and terrains in a relatively short distance. We tried to capture a sample.

Because Sinead is concerned

We aren't doing it right

Beautiful!

Hello South Island!

We have officially arrived on the South Island. We sleep in picton tonight and head for Christchurch tomorrow.

Driving through gorges in an rv

Is an unnerving experience. Vehicle height puts you at risk of knocking against narrow walls. Super narrow lanes reduce margin of error to a bad crosswind between you and a bad crash at best, a steep pitch to your death at worse. So I needed to decompress on the other side and pulled over at the nearest turnout. Pumped up the music and tried to breathe. Soon we noticed the neighbors were curious so I turned up the music and took some photos.

Promise more will come

But we spent the last day and a half on the driving the Coromandel peninsula. Insanely beautiful. Will try to load photos from our camera tonight. In the meantime here is a picture of some cool local art at the lazy lizard cafe in Whangamata.
